Surface Preparation

1. We introduce the pieces in a pyrolytic oven to ensure adequate gaseous and water expulsion from the substrate and a correct degreasing.

2. A manual or mechanical cleaning. The objective is that the surface is 100% free of impurities / contaminants.

3. The pieces are subjected to an abrasive cleaning with metal shot (EN ISO 8501-1). They are conferred to a specific roughness (EN ISO 4287) in order to create a good anchoring profile for the coating (adhesion).

4. If any part of the piece requires it, we mask the areas which are not going to be coated (machined, threaded ...).

Preheating the oven

When our operators have prepared the parts correctly, the pieces are taken into the oven to be preheated.

Likewise, they are preheated in industrial ovens that allow them to be taken to the thermo melting temperature of the chosen coating.

Coating

Once the thermo-fusion temperature is reached, the pieces can be coated by two methods:

Dipped in fluidized bed

An article of metal, once preheated to the correct temperature of thermofusion, is completely dipped in this fluidized bed. In this way, the dust is thermo fused with the piece when coming into contact with it. Thus, the substratum is totally coated and isolated from corrosive environments creating the so-called barrier coating.

Electrostatic projection

Our electrostatic range of powder cryogenically ground is fine enough to become electrically charged and to be projected on metallic elements. After application, the metallic elements are placed in an industrial oven and they are heated up until the dust is thermofused to metal. After this step, the pieces are let to cool in order to achieve a high-quality coating.
